At the same time, vegetables are considered low calorie foods, except potatoes as those have about 18% of natural starch.

The main rule in terms of vegetable diet is to consume not more than 2 kg of various types of vegetables every day. Specialist suggest using vegetables of various colors, like tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, carrots, paprika, greens and so on, therefore your diet will be colorful and cheerful. Eat small meals every 3-4 hours, trying to eat the highest calorie vegetables (like potato or carrots) in the morning, and light vegetables in the evening. Certainly, the best way to make a change in your vegetable diet is to prepare various salads with using no mayonnaise or vegetable oil.

When you start your vegetable diet, you body will stop receiving sufficient amounts of calories and energy, your body will start using the energy which it stored in the form of fat beforehand. However, using such diet is not recommended when you are about to begin a serious physical or mental work. You can include to your diet such dishes as salads, soups, vegetable stews or vegetable juices.
